April showers bring May flowers. They also bring more Derby Duck Races! We have three quacktastic races this Saturday, May 2, 2015! Be sure to check them out and Adopt a Duck! Remember, you don’t have to be present to win!
Our first race of the day has been racing Derby Ducks for over 10 years! The Reedy River Duck Derby returns to Falls Park in Greenville, South Carolina for this quacky event. The quacky activities will begin at 10am EDT which will include games, children’s activities, entertainment and local artists’ exhibits. At 2:30pm 10,000 Derby Ducks will dive into the Reedy River for their shot at winning a prize. Prizes this year include a golf weekend at Emabssy Suites, a children’s playhouse and the grand prize winner will receive groceries for a year! Hosted by the Rotary Club of Greenville Evening, all proceeds will benefit Mauldin Miracle League, GAIHN, EarlyAct FirstKnight, and many other charities.

Our next race of the day is racing for the first time! The Great Duck Dash will make its debut during the Cinco de Mayo Festival in Destin Harbor in Destin, Florida. Festivities begin at 10am EDT and will feature music, food, free kid’s activities, a roller derby and more during the Cinco de Mayo festival. At 1pm 5,000 Derby Ducks will splash through the harbor for a chance to win one of five quacky prizes including a deep sea fishing trip, a chance to meet college football legend Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger, and a $1,000 cash grand prize! All duck adoption proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast who serves over 2,000 kids in nine clubs in four counties. Their mission is to inspire and empower all young people to achieve their full potential!
Our last race of the day is the 2015 YESS Duck Derby in Des Moines, Iowa. Returning for its 8th year, the YESS Duck Derby will race over 30,000 Derby Ducks at the Jordan Creek Town Center. All the fun begins at 12pm CDT and will feature free entertainment, kids’ activities and food samples from local restaurants. Additional activities include balloon sculptures, glitter tattoos and face painting, inflatable slides and obstacle courses, and more! 10 quacky prizes will be handed out the lucky ducks who cross the finish line first including golf lessons, yoga classes, and Microsoft gift card. The first place duck will take home $10,000 cash! All proceeds will benefit the Youth Emergency Services Shelter (YESS) who serves more than 1,000 children each year. YESS meet the critical needs of the community by providing a continuum of quality programs designed to keep children safe and families together.
